Sewing.... Sewing... Sewing...

Welcome to my blog!  This blog will be dedicated to crafting, fun food finds, and other helpful advice I have found.  My name is Jan McClellan and I'm a christian first, a wife second, and a mom every other minute of the day.  I do school work when I have the time, and sewing when I'm not doing any of the other tasks I have to do.  I'm married to my high school sweetheart, Richard, and though life has had its up and downs, we are still in love and committed to each other.

A little about my crafting or not so crafting.  I've been sewing since 2009 when my dad bought me a Brother 60-Stitch Computerized Sewing Machine, CS-6000i from Walmart for a birthday/graduation present.  This important for you to know because I will not be using a fancy machine...so if your machine does more things. you can embellish or do things easier than I post.  This is a pretty amazing machine for the cost, however it is no Bernina or Husquvana!

My bible fellowship teacher taught me most of what I know... but I also use books like Nancy Zieman's Sewing A to Z.

I am NOT:

  • good at creating things without directions
  • good at quilting
  • caught up in the details.
I am:
  • good at following directions
  • in love with sewing
  • good at writing directions
With that said:

I'm going to attempt to upload my finds on here and try them out to see if they work.  I'll also discuss new products/patterns/ideas I create myself and show the greatness.. the disasters.. and the in-between.

I'm IN LOVE with Prudentbaby.com!  Their tutorials are amazing and they have such great ideas.  Check them out at Prudentbaby now by clicking the link.

Stay tuned for a tutorial on making taggie blankets .... such a great baby gift ... and I will include the tutorial on how to make some cute burp cloths too!

I've been doing the Prudentbaby towel covers too, but making my own bias tape.  Check these out while you await my uploading of the taggie blankets!

Stay tuned and I'll try to hurry ....

Blessings!  ~Jan
